Sometime in June, 1995, Complainants went to the office of ROBERTO ALBAŅA at LPL Business Center. 130 Alfaro St., Salcedo Village, Makati City, to apply for overseas employment. There, Complainants met Subject and his wife RACQUEL, who promised to deploy them as Caregivers in Canada after they finish training in a designated training center and after they paid Subjects their "processing fee". One Complainant, RUPERTO MARTINEZ, was promised deployment as a farm worker in the country of Romania. The amounts paid, as receipted by Subjects, by the Complainants are the following: DARLENE A. BAUTISTA (Php 28,500); JOVY EDEN CHAVEZ (Php 28,500); DIVINE DUE (Php 28,500); GLADYS NAVARRA (Php 28,500); JOSEPHINE OSIAS Php (28,500); MA. ANA RAMONA FUENTE (Php 28,500); LOVIC MABUS (Php 28,500); and RUPERTO MARTINEZ (Php17,500). Complainants filed the instant case after Subjects failed to fulfill their promise.
